Start your day off right

I would like to start this blog the same way I like to start my day: with breakfast! I never ever skip breakfast, not only because it is the most important meal of the day, but also because it is my favorite meal of all. It is a peaceful moment only for myself, in which nothing has yet happened to ruin my day, before all the stress of work, studies and obligations come full throttle. I either connect to any social network or check my mail. I enjoy my breakfast slowly and appreciate every bite of it.  

Moreover, research on the topic suggests that breakfast plays a significant role in our health. A 2003 study the American Journal of Epidemiology showed that people who skip breakfast are more likely to be obese than those who do not. Having a balanced breakfast is also beneficial to get the energy your body requires to keep you going throughout the day, and it is an optimal pre-workout meal. It has also been suggested that eating breakfast will help you make healthier choices and prevent overeating in the subsequent meals of the day. 

My favorite breakfast choice is oatmeal. It is indeed a versatile food that allows me to add as many different toppings as my imagination covers. Thus, I avoid falling into the monotony of boring unatractive breakfasts. In my opinion, it is important to make sure that all my breakfasts are complete and include complex carbs, healthy fats and protein. I like to eat oats warm, overnight, or in a form of granola.
